We hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits, enjoying these precious moments with those dearest to you.
On these final days of 2023, Marile and I find ourselves in prayerful reflection, surrounded by our children and the serene beauty and majesty of the Aspen Mountains. We are inspired by the eternal truth from Scripture, especially Ecclesiastes 3:1:
“To everything,
there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
This year, more than ever, we’ve witnessed the resilience of the human spirit – in our community, among our cherished friends, clients and colleagues, and within the stories that have touched us all.
In 2023, we also celebrated significant milestones and overcame challenges that strengthened our faith and resolve:
Law: AR stepping into a pivotal new role at our LopezGovLaw Law Firm, adding his exceptional legal acumen and reinforcing our unwavering commitment to client advocacy.
Culinary: Carlos reaching new heights with iRoll Sushi, where his innovative approach, hardwork and dedication to quality have truly set a new standard in the Miami sushi scene.
Fashion: Annia’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she propelled MariaElena Headpieces to global recognition, blending artistic creativity with business savvy (UM ‘23) to make a mark on the international fashion stage.
Each of their achievements has been a source of immense pride and inspiration for Marile and me – showing our childrens’ true grit, passion, perseverance, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are filled with anticipation and hope:
Our hearts are filled with immense pride and joy as we eagerly anticipate the high school graduation of our twins Saramelia (Carrollton) and Luis Jorge (Belen) – their remarkable success in these formative years is a testament to their dedication and hard work, and symbolizes the bright future that await as they embark on their collegiate journey.
In fact, inspired largely by Saramelia and Luis Jorge, our aspiration for the new year is to expand our civic, community and philanthropic engagement towards environmental justice. Our efforts will be channeled into advocating for sustainable tech and practices – underscoring our commitment to protecting and preserving our planet for future generations.
