Dear Friends, Clients and Colleagues,
Please join us in congratulating Mayor Daniella Levine Cava on a powerful 2026 State of the County Address at Florida Memorial University–centered on the inspiring theme of “belonging.“
As Miami-Dade prepares for its “biggest year yet” in 2026—Madam Mayor’s administration is aggressively modernizing infrastructure, cutting red tape for businesses, and leveraging public land for housing.
By the Numbers:
- 3.2%: The current unemployment rate, one of the lowest in the nation.
- 120,000: New jobs created in the last year.
- 5,000: Potential new homes identified on vacant county land through the “Prosper Initiative”.
Key Highlights:
✈️ Modernizing MIA:
With 55 million travelers last year, the Mayor announced a new “MIA Forward Flight Team” to improve the passenger experience and accelerate the airport’s $9 billion modernization plan, including the new Concourse K.
💼 Business Efficiency:
The administration is removing barriers through “Strive 305,” utilizing permitting kiosks that have cut approval times from months to days for small business owners.
🚍 Transit Innovation:
The new Metro Express (Bus Rapid Transit) is saving commuters up to 30 minutes per trip, with ridership doubling since its October launch.
🤝 “No Wrong Door”:
A new approach to county services ensures residents access all necessary support—from justice diversion to social services—regardless of which department they contact first.
Mayor Levine Cava emphasized that Miami-Dade’s diversity is its strength. Her vision for 2026 is to build a community where economic growth and human dignity go hand-in-hand, ensuring every resident can “pursue their American dream“.
