Dear Friends, Clients & Colleagues,
We hope our #ThankfulThursday finds you and yours well.
Today, we reflect as our universal Catholic Church enters a historic moment of discernment.
Habemus Papam
Earlier today, from the central loggia of Saint Peter’s Basilica, Cardinal Protodeacon Dominique Mamberti pronounced the formula “Habemus Papam,” proclaiming to the city of Rome and to the whole world the news of the election of Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost as Pope Leo XIV. The first words of Pope Leo XIV:
“Peace be with all of you!”
This moment calls us to unity and the continuation of the Church’s enduring mission in our modern world.
Honoring Archbishop Wenski and Preparing for a New Chapter
Marile and I are also reflecting on a deeply personal and beloved Archdiocesan tradition—our family’s annual support of Cheers to Charity.
On Tuesday, April 29th, we celebrated our 14th Annual Cheers to Charity luncheon at Joe’s Stone Crabs—hosted by our beloved Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski and surrounded by our boys, AR and Carlos, and joined by dear friends, colleagues, and members of our greater Miami community.
It was a moment to renew our faith for a future where love and charity lead the way, and where the needs of the most vulnerable are never forgotten.
We were especially inspired by our beloved Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski as he lead us in prayer. His Excellency shared a moving tribute to Pope Francis, calling us all to prepare our hearts for what lies ahead. Archbishop Wenski reminded us that the legacy of our Church is of action—rooted in ministry and evangelization, made possible by events like these.
Jubilee 2025
This year, we set on an extraordinary journey as we embrace Jubilee 2025—a special year of forgiveness and spiritual renewal for the Catholic Church, celebrated every 25 years. Jubilee 2025 invites us all to unite in fellowship and recommit to the mission of mercy through ministry, education, and vocation.
As we look toward the future, we invite you to be a part of this legacy by simply giving back in your own way—your generosity fuels hope and touches lives in real, meaningful ways.
Thank you for reflecting with us.
In faith and appreciation,
Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
