Today, we reflect and give thanks for the outstanding work of Branches’ and great success of their 16th Annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans Dinner & Auction.
On Saturday, Marile, our children, parents and I joined our extended Branches family in supporting their life-changing work — “to serve, educate and inspire people through student, family and financial stability services in partnership with our communities“.
At this year’s dinner, Marile and I were honored to receive the Trish & Dan Bell Community Empowerment Award.
As we reflected on this award, we were humbled to be in the company of such dedicated and inspiring and community leaders, previously recognized — Trish and Dan Bell; The Batchelor Foundation and Founder George E. Batchelor; Mr. David Lawrence, Jr.; and Superintendent MD Schools Alberto Carvalho.
At this year’s dinner, Marile and I were honored to receive the Trish & Dan Bell Community Empowerment Award.

Each in their special way has generously committed their time, talent & treasures to creating a more compassionate community that provides real opportunities for all children and families.
We thank all of our distinguished religious, civic, community and business leaders who joined us in celebrating Branches’ works and for our Community Empowerment Award. We are especially grateful to each for their personal recognition, encouragement and kind words.
This year, Branches reached new heights by raising critical donations to help more children attend Summer Shade Camp.
