Reflections on Patriot’s Day 2021

Friends, Clients, and Colleagues
As always, we hope our reflection finds you well.
As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of Patriots’ Day, we properly pause to remember that on September 11, 2001 these United States of America suffered a ruthless terrorist attack.
Our homeland was targeted for being a God-fearing and freedom-loving nation and as a result of bitter hatred — nearly 3,000 innocent individuals died.
This year, as in every year since that fateful day — Marile and I reflect and pray with our children and parents on how the horror of the morning of September 11th became a defining moment in our nation’s history.
We ask them to always remember this day — when ordinary human beings, living ordinary lives, reacted with extraordinary heroism when faced with the ultimate challenge and personal sacrifice.

It is fitting and proper that we pay tribute to those victims and first responders alike, who lost their lives in the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Our family joins in prayer for their souls and for the families and loved ones they left behind.

We also pray for the men and women in uniform who proudly serve our country and for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe and free — especially in Afghanistan.

And, we remember and repeat the words etched on the walls on the 9/11 Memorial —

On September 11, 2001 our values were challenged — but we stood strong and did not falter — because we are truly a nation “under God”.

Thank you for reflecting with us.

Warmest Regards,

Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq
