As always, we hope our reflection finds you and yours well.
Today, we commemorate the 22nd Anniversary of Patriot Day, and fittingly recite the words etched on the walls of the 9/11 Memorial:
We remember that on that fateful day, the hatred-driven acts took the lives of nearly 3,000 innocent souls: mothers, fathers, siblings, and friends, each with dreams, aspirations, and loved ones they left behind.
Marile and I gather with our children and parents to pray for their souls, families and loved ones they left behind.
We pray they find solace and comfort in Psalm 46:1, proclaiming:
We hold onto their memory, as a living testament to how ordinary individuals, leading everyday lives, rose to extraordinary heights of heroism in the face of immense challenges and profound sacrifice.
On this Patriot Day 2023, we also honor the unwavering bravery of the first responders, who, without hesitation, risked and sacrificed their lives to save others, embodying the true spirit of selflessness and courage.
