#ThankfulThursday: New treatments, cures for children battling cancer

Dear Friends, Clients & Colleagues,

Today is truly a great day … and, as always, we hope this note finds you and family well.

On this very special #ThankfulThursday, please join Marile and me, and ALL children’s health advocates and volunteers as we celebrate a giant leap forward in the fight against childhood cancer.

Our prayers and hard work for children has paid off!

The bi-partisan Research to Accelerate Cures and Equity (RACE) for Children Act — implementing an FDA mandate that all new cancer therapies for adults must also be studied in children — went into effect after being enacted three years ago.

Today, we have been reassured that by the Grace of our Heavenly Father and our collective hard work — children with cancer will not only survive, but thrive!

We thank all our elected leaders, specially Senators Rubio and Bennett for renewing the hope of countless families throughout America by ensuring that we accelerate research in the treatment and cures for children facing this dreaded disease.

We thank President Trump for signing this legislation into law and now, unleashing American innovation and creativity for the health and well-being of all our children.

Thank you to all children’s health advocates, cancer-fighting volunteers, my friend Chris Hansen and colleagues at ACS CAN who boldly and passionately fought this important battle!

Our work with the American Cancer Society, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and most importantly — having been blessed with five healthy and happy children — has inspired Marile and me to tirelessly advocate for this life-saving legislation.

As you reflect on your own blessings on this day, we ask that you join us in praying for the children who have been affected with cancer and their families.

And, please consider joining us in the fight to end all cancers, especially childhood cancer.

As always, we thank you for your friendship and continued support.

Warmest regards,

Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
