Dear Friends, Clients and Colleagues,
We hope this BreakingNews brief finds you well.
Today, NASCAR announced its 2022 Cup Series schedule, and after a two year hiatus, our beloved Homestead-Miami Speedway will again be a major player in the premier series’ coveted 10- race playoffs on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.
Marile, the kids and I are thrilled to see the return to playoffs racing for Homestead-Miami Speedway, which hosted the NASCAR Cup Series championship finale from 2002-2019.
We’ve had the honor of representing the Homestead-Miami Speedway during that entire 20-year run of crowing champions.
We are so excited for our dear friend Al Garcia, Homestead-Miami Speedway President and our entire NASCAR family. As Al said, “We can’t wait for October of 2022, taking us back to our storied past in the NASCAR Cup Series …we crowned a champion at Homestead-Miami Speedway, so it’s great to be back in the title mix.”
We join Al in thanking all the past and present Miami-Dade County and City of Homestead civic, business, community and elected leaders, who champion and support racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
A special thank you to our great friend and Champion Emeritus former County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss and Margaret his lovely wife.
County Commissioner Keonnie McGhee has continued the strong support and has extended his leadership to turn Homestead-Miami Speedway into the premier entertainment destination in booming South Miami-Dade.
We have always had a passionate and loyal friend and supporter in County Commission Chairman Jose “Pepe” Diaz. Al would agree that today’s announcement would not have been possible without the Chairman’s dedication to racing in Homestead.
Mayor Daniela Levine Cava, from day-1 has been a true champion. Madam Mayor has supported the Speedway as a Commissioner and now as Mayor understands the jobs and millions of dollars in economic impact and global visibility a NASCAR Cup Series race brings for all the residents of Miami-Dade County.
Madam Mayor Levine Cava stated: “Miami-Dade County and Homestead-Miami Speedway made a statement in June of 2020, setting the standard for following protocols at major sporting events, … and now, we get ready for a return to NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs with the greatest racing in the world next October, right here in Miami-Dade County. We look forward to welcoming fans from everywhere.”
Finally, racing would not be possible, but for the support of our hometown champions in the City of Homestead. As Homestead Mayor Steve Losner echoed on behalf of the entire City Council, professional staff and business leader: “We can’t wait to hear the roar of the engines of the magnificent NASCAR machines next fall at the track, which has been a mainstay in our community for more than a quarter century.”
We too, can’t wait to see you and together hear the roar of NASCAR racing thunder at the historic fall 2022 Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
As always, thank you for opening, reading and staying in touch.
