As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our great Nation, we reflect on the extraordinary blessings bestowed on us all — liberty, opportunity, and freedom from oppression.
Today, our family remembers how America stood as a beacon of freedom, hope and opportunity — when our birthplace of Cuba had become a place of fear, tyranny and oppression under a cruel and brutal dictatorship.
Rightly, we turn to Scripture — “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (Luke 12:48).
Marile and I believe and share with our children — as our parents have with us — that “to whom much is given, much will be required” means that we are grateful and responsible for what we have been entrusted.
Because we are blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, health, and so much more, faithfulness requires that we serve and use those gifts wisely, unselfishly and for the benefit others.
As Americans, today we renew our solemn commitment to serve others and preserve our nation’s greatness by defending justice, freedom and opportunity for ALL.
May you and your family have a safe and blessed Independence Day, as we celebrate the true meaning of being an American!
God bless you, and God bless these United States of America.
Warmest personal regards,
Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
