We hope this exciting announcement finds you well.
Our friends and 20-year client, International Speedway Corporation (ISC), parent company of Homestead-Miami Speedway, just announced that Matthew Becherer, President of Homestead-Miami Speedway, has been promoted to an ISC Officer as VP of Consumer Sales at ISC’s Daytona Beach Headquarters.
Simultaneously, ISC announced that Al Garcia, Senior VP of Operations at Homestead-Miami Speedway, has been promoted to President of Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Please join our entire LopezGovLaw Firm in congratulating Matt and Al in their well-deserved promotions.
Over the years — as their attorney and friend — I’ve had the distinct honor and pleasure of closely seeing the integrity, work ethic and dedication Matt and Al bring each and every day to the Speedway.
I proudly echo ISC President John Saunders’ words of praise and recognition of Matt —
“Matt’s promotion is well deserved and is a reflection on the leadership skills that he has displayed within our company for the past 20 years … Through the work of him and his team, they have helped to elevate NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend to new heights, as it has grown in size and stature each year. His fan-first focus drives new ticket audiences and will help to grow admissions while ensuring that every fan who attends our races has a memorable experience.”
Godspeed Matt and best wishes to you Joanne and Lola.
As Speedway President, Al Garcia will oversee promotion and operation of Homestead-Miami Speedway beginning with its 2019 Ford Championship Weekend in November, marking 18 straight years the facility has hosted NASCAR’s championship races in all three of its national series.
Al is already hard at work preparing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Homestead-Miami Speedway and Al’s team will host NASCAR’s three national series on new spring dates – March 20-22, 2020.
As you may know, Al is a native Miamian and proud Columbus High School grad. Al began his motorsports career with the Miami Grand Prix in 1985, working for Homestead-Miami Speedway founder Ralph Sanchez. Since that time, Al has become synonymous with motorsports in South Florida.
As ISC COO Joie Chitwood III stated —
“This is a well-deserved promotion for Al and something he has prepared for his entire professional career … Not only does he bring extensive industry and company knowledge to this position, but more importantly a great deal of leadership to the Homestead-Miami Speedway team. He is an outstanding ambassador for motorsports, not just in the Miami area, but nationally as well. Al is someone who possesses an extraordinary amount of passion and energy, and he is the perfect fit for this role.”
Amen!
Marile and I wish our dear friends Al, Trish and Max great success and continued Blessings in this new and exciting chapter of their lives.
As always, thank you for taking the time to reflect with us.
Know we cherish your friendship and continued support.
Warmest Personal Regards,
Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
