Today, we reflect and give thanks for the outstanding work of Branches’ and great success of their 16th Annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans Dinner & Auction.On Saturday, Marile, our children, parents and I joined our extended Branches family in supporting their life-changing work — “to serve, educate and inspire people through student, family and financial stability services in partnership with our communities”.

Once again, Trish & Dan have set the standard for giving with their transformative $5 million donation to help FIU build an inter-faith chapel. This sacred space for spiritual strengthening, renewal and understanding, will provide a sanctuary for the expression of FIU’s young women and men, and their diverse faiths and perspectives.
This passage inspired Marile and me to write this #ThankfulThurday — dedicated to the laborers — the volunteers, leaders, and professionals tirelessly working to help families and children in need — in our community and around the world. The needs are many — and, so we thank you for stepping up and pray others will do likewise and give of their time, talents, and treasure — to those in need. In your honor, here are but a few of those profound acts of kindness, caring and generosity through-out 2018:

Last year, our friends at The Miami Foundation’s Give Miami Day raised $10.1 million in support of 700 local charities.
Today the movement is in full swing.
Marile, the kids and our parents are once again donating and asking you–our friends, clients and colleagues–to help our community and those in need.
In honor of the our NEXT 30 years of service–our Lopez family will be making a special donation to 30 charities.
