Tragedy Strikes Again

Greetings Friends, Clients & Colleagues,

Marile and I hope you are well.

Just weeks after supporting Venezuela, we are called to act again.

On August 10, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake devastated western Colombia. Families in Cali, Pereira, and Quibdó are now without shelter and basic necessities.

Marile and I are keeping the people of Colombia in our thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

This hits home for us.  Our dear friends the Piedrahita, Barbier-Lara family, and so many Colombian friends in South Florida, are working tirelessly to provide relief. Their resilience is a profound reminder of the power of community.

How to Help: Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) and Doral Mayor Christi Fraga have launched an immediate response. They are prioritizing cash donations to purchase supplies locally and support the Colombian economy.

  • Donate Now: Support Colombia Relief Efforts
  • Physical Goods: Drop off tents, hygiene kits, and first-aid supplies at GEM’s Doral warehouse (1850 NW 84th Ave) from 9-5.

Why It Matters: With the support of our friends at Avianca Cargo, a dedicated humanitarian air bridge—similar to the one established for Venezuela—is actively delivering rescue teams and emergency medical supplies to the most severely impacted areas. This collaboration guarantees that your aid arrives quickly and effectively where it is needed most.

Every act of kindness—whether a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this message—reassures our Colombian brothers and sisters that they are not alone!

With hope and solidarity,

Marile & Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq.
